bungee cord....

Well, I had to do it!!!! There is now a bungee cord holding my fridge door shut! I went outside to get the mail and was gone all of 2 minutes!! I come back in to the fridge open, the milk carton laying on the floor, and a BIG puddle of milk on my freshly mopped floor!!!! And an innocent looking boy looking at his mommy like he was saying "I didn't do it!!!" So I cleaned it up with the clean towel I just put out today, set Vaughn in the chair in the living room and went out to my car to look for a bungee cord. I wonder how long it will be before he figures out how to unhook it???

Teething hell!!!

My poor little guy has been waking up from his naps, just crying inconsolably!! Today, it took me about 20 minutes to get him to take Tylenol!! Once that takes effect, he's fine, but the poor little guy was crying for 45 minutes!!! He wouldn't even eat!!! Now that he's in a better mood, I should probably try feeding him again-- he hasn't eaten much today. I can't wait til those molars pop thru!!!!

rubber duckies

Vaughn has 2 duckies-- a yellow one and a green one. Yesterday, he was in the bathroom playing with the green duck. I asked him "where's the yellow duck?" He went over to his toy basket, and pulled out the yellow duck!!! I don't know if he knew it was yellow, or just that it was a duck!! We've been working on colors tho... I tell him the colors of his stacking rings, and when I let him color, I hand him the crayons one at a time and name the colors! One day I was givng him crayons, and we got to yellow-- I said "yellow" and he put it up to his ear like a phone!! He thought I said "hello"!!! LOL

Vaughn's lunch!

Well, today Vaughn had a hot dog, 2 slices of cheese, and a WHOLE orange for breakfast. He ate at about 11 am. An hour later, I find him sitting in front of the fridge, door open, cheese out, and he had the salami out with the package open and he was trying to get a piece out!!! So I put him in his chair and fed him salami and cheese! Must be time for another growth spurt!!

Tornado!!

Yesterday I felt like I was chasing a tornado thru the house!! Vaughn was into EVERYTHING!! He pulled about 30 dvds off the shelves, got the laundry stain spray out from under the bathroom sink (I put it up now!), shredded 3 tissues, crumbled 2 crackers on the kitchen floor, turned on the VCR in the living room, unplugged the VCR in the bedroom, got the plastic wrap out of the cupboard and unrolled a bunch, and spilled my Diet Coke in the computer room!! It was like I'd go put something away, and he'd be off to the next thing!!! It's a good thing he's so darn cute!!!

Must... go.... shopping....

I let Vaughn pick out his clothes the other day, and it inspired me to clean out his dresser and pack away a bunch of stuff that's too small for him!! This is what he wanted to wear!!! I have trouble finding pants to fit him, since he's so tall and thin! By the time the pants fit around the waist, they only come down to his knees!!! He is wearing size 24months/2T shirts, and 18month pants, but the pants are all getting too short! The jeans he's wearing in the pic are 12months, and just now fit around the waist!! The winter coat I got him is size 3T, I wanted it to fit all winter!! The sleeves were a little long when I got it, but now when he puts it on, he stretchs his arms out and can get his hands thru the sleeves by himself!! It should last the rest of the winter tho!

That's all I can think of at the moment!! He also tries to repete the last word of any sentence you say, which is pretty cute! I dripped water on him a couple weeks ago, and said "drip, drip, drip"-- he said "duh, duh, duh"! He also nods and shakes his head for yes and no. Sometimes his understanding of language just amazes me!!!

My band gig-- Vaughn got to go to Aunt Kay's!!

I played a gig tonight in Wadena. I had fun!!! I got to play with a drummer that I used to play with and hadn't seen in about 8 years! Kay babysat Vaughn. She said he was such a good boy!!! He ate meatballs and carrots at her house, and then they came back here and Vaughn went to bed. When I got home, Vaughn must have heard me come in, cuz he woke up!!! Poor little guy!! Of course he had to play with Tina a little before he went back to bed... I think his teeth were bothering him too, so I gave him some Tylenol-- that should make him sleep til about 11!! LOL Then maybe I can sleep in!

This morning he woke up at 9:30, which is kinda late for him. I wasn't ready to get up yet, so I brought him in bed with me, and he went back to sleep for another hour!! I think he knew I had a gig tonight, and being the little sweetie that he is, he wanted to let me sleep more!!! I make the most of any cuddles I get from him, since he's always on the go, and doesn't cuddle much any more... I'm so proud of how grown-up he's getting, but I miss my baby!!!

Hungry boy!

Here's a picture of my hungry boy!!! You'd think I never feed the kid, since he's always in the fridge-- literally, IN the fridge!!!!!!! LOL I don't understand how such a small person can eat so much!!!!

My baby is growing up!

Today, I asked Vaughn if he was hungry-- he crawled out to the kitchen, opened the fridge, pulled open the drawer and took out cheese and hot dogs!! I guess he knew what he wanted for lunch!! He ate 2 hot dogs (no buns), some cheese, and a whole kiwi. I think kiwi is his favorite food!!
After lunch, we went to Wal-Mart. I took him thru the toy section and he saw some balls. He got all excited and said "ball!!!", so I HAD to get him one! He held it the rest of the time we were in the store! After the toys, went went to look at fish. He said "fish" when he saw them!! (more like a fish with no I's {eyes}, he said "fshhhhh") Guess we'll have to get him some fish soon!!
When we got home, he took a nap-- I think the fresh air and shopping wore him out cuz he slept for 3 hours! He wanted me to hold him while I was making supper, but I finally gave him a sippy cup of water and set him on the floor and he was happy with that. He drank some water, and then crawled off to play with his new ball. We ate raspberry pork steaks and green beans (not the typical pork and beans!!!), and I swear Vaughn ate almost a whole pork steak by himself!!! That kid sure can eat!
After we ate, I got him ready for bed. It's always fun trying to get him in his jammies, cuz he thinks it's time to play!! He loves crawling away from me once I get his clothes off! I finally bribed him into his pjs by telling him I'd make him a bottle when he had his jammies on... As soon as he had them on, he went to the kitchen looking for a bottle! We had our "cuddle time" while he drank his bottle, then I asked him if he was tired. He nodded his head yes, so I took him to his room and he just about jumped out of my arms to get in his crib!!! It was a LONG day!!
I love my sweet wonderful little boy!!!!!

Tiffany told me I needed a blog, and I was thinking about all the things Vaughn did today, so I decided to start a blog about Vaughn!! Since this is my very first blog post ever, I'll make it short just to see how it works!!!! More later....
