going to see Kurt!!

We are going to see Kurt!! We're leaving in the morning, and will be back sometime on Tues. We are planning on taking Vaughn to the zoo, I'm sure he will love it!! If I get any good pictures, I will post them when I get back!!!

knock knock!!

I was watching "Bones" on TV tonight, and someone knocked on a door on the show. Vaughn goes over and knocks on the TV screen!!! LOL

slippery when wet...

I had to mop the kitchen last night, cuz Vaughn spilled Mello Yello yesterday. I kept telling Vaughn not to go in the kitchen, because the floor was wet, and he would slip and fall down. So of course he goes out there!!! And falls down!!! Today, everytime I go in the kitchen, he will stand on the edge of the carpet and squeek at me til I come and get him!!! He's scared to walk in the kitchen!!! It's so funny!!! I keep telling him the floor is dry now, and it's OK, but he still won't go out there!! I should have thought of this a long time ago, and I wouldn't have had to put a bungee cord on my fridge!!!! LOL

We went to the park tonight, Vaughn had a blast!!! There were some kids there playing baseball, and they let Vaughn play with their bat-- he didn't want to give it back!!!! He spent about half an hour in the swing-- he loved it!!! I was swinging him really high, and he was laughing like crazy!!!

feeding Nemo!!

Vaughn fed Nemo this morning!!! I told him we had to feed the fish, so he was reaching for the fish food right away!! He got the fish food, then he took the little lid off the fish tank, and tried to open the food container! I unscrewed the top, he took a pinch of food, put it in the tank, tried to screw the cover back on the food, and then tried to put the lid back on the tank!!! What a big boy!!!!!! I'm so proud of him!!!

potty training!!! LOL

I took Vaughn's diaper off this morning, and he took off running and wouldn't let me put another diaper on him!! So I figured it would be the perfect time to get him to sit on the potty!! I got him in the bathroom, but he wouldn't sit down, so I decided that if I sat on the big potty, maybe he'd sit on his! So I sat down and started peeing... As soon as he heard it, he said "PEE!!" and you could see him concentrating on peeing!!! He peed on the floor and then he started crying and ran away!! I had to tell him he was a big boy for peeing when mommy did, but next time he should do it in the potty!!! It was so cute!!!!

Barney song

Vaughn was watching Barney this morning. At the end when they sang the Barney song, he was dancing! When they got to the line "a great big hug and a kiss from me to you" he gave his "blankie" a great big hug, and blew a kiss to the TV!!! It was SOOOO cute!!!!!

FISH!!!!!

I bought Vaughn a goldfish today!!! He absolutely loves it!!! He keeps pointing, smiling, and saying "fish!" We named it "Nemo" and I've been trying to get Vaughn to say Nemo, but it comes out more like "Nee-nee"!! Here is a picture of Vaughn's first pet!!!

potty chair

I bought Vaughn a potty chair today. The dr. asked if he was showing any signs of being ready for potty training. He grabs himself or points to his butt and says "pee", so he knows there's something going on!!! I'm not in any hurry to potty train him, but I figured I'd get the chair and get him used to having it around! I set it up and put it in the bathroom, it has a lid which he was putting up and down for a while. Then he had to lift the lid on the big potty!!! THEN he dragged the potty chair all over the house for a while!!!! LOL When I had to go to the bathroom, I took his chair in the bathroom again, and I got him to sit on it while I went potty. As soon as he sat down, he looked at me and said "pee!" He still had his diaper on-- maybe in the next couple days I'll try it without his diaper and see what happens!!

Vaughn's 18 month check-up

Vaughn had his 18 month check-up today. He is 33 1/2 inches tall and weighs 25 lbs. 15 oz.!! He is 90th% for height and 50th% for weight! He also got 3 shots-- the nurses were holding his legs down, and it must have tickled him, because he was laughing until the needles went in!!!!

He was so cute in the waiting room!! There was a little girl in there about his age (and about 3 inches shorter!!), and he went up to her and tried to give her his "blankie"!!! Then there was another family that came in with 3 little girls, and the littlest was maybe just over a year old-- a cute little girl with red hair, and Vaughn went up and gave her a hug!!! It was so cute!! He's chasing girls already!!! LOL

He was really crabby tonight-- I knew he would be because of the shots... He's had 3 doses of Tylenol today, and he still doesn't feel good... I know his leg hurts, he was sitting on my lap for about a half hour, and when I stood him up he started crying and reached down to his right leg!(the one that got 2 shots). Poor little guy!! I hope he feels better tomorrow!!

making fun of bad singers!!

I never got around to posting this before, so I'll do it now...

Last week, there was a commercial on TV for the show "The Apprentice". They had some REALLY bad singers on there!! The first time I heard it, (I was doing stuff on the computer, so I wasn't really paying attention) I thought "those people are terrible singers!" And Vaughn was making some weird noise-- his voice was going up and down and he sounded like a wounded animal!! LOL The next time the commercial came on, Vaughn started doing the same noise-- I realized he was making fun of the bad singers!!!!! At least he doesn't do that when I sing!!!!!!!

More musical comedy.... Our piano is out of tune, and there is one note that is REALLY out of tune, even with itself!! It is so bad that it bugs me whenever anyone plays that note. Vaughn was playing piano one day, and he found that note, and was doing that note and an octave above it at the same time--then he'd turn and look at me and grin!!!! What a smart, silly boy!!!!

busy week!!!

I haven't posted in here in a whole week!!! We've been busy!! My mom and her boyfriend came back from Arizona on Mon. and Vaughn and I went to the cities to pick them up at the airport. It got to be a really long day, but Vaughn was really good most of the time! He LOVED the escalators at the airport!! We were going up and down them for about a half hour!! Vaughn did really well, he stepped on all by himself (I was holding his hand) but he couldn't quite get the hang of stepping off when we got the the end-- he would trip every time!!! LOL

Tues. we went to the Super Wal-Mart with Mom and Paul. Vaughn was pretty tired from the day before, and he had a tantrum in the store!! He threw himself down on the floor, kicking and screaming!! He only had a 10 minute nap on the way there, so he was not in a good mood!!!

The weather has been pretty nice here, except for the wind. Vaughn loves being outside!! I take him for walks, or in the backyard to play. He never wants to come back in tho, and always starts crying when I make him go in the house!!! I can just imagine him camping out in the backyard when he's about 6!!!! LOL

I feel like I haven't been on the computer much in the last few days!! Vaughn will not let me sit here when he's up- he will grab my finger, and pull me out of the room!!! Tonight he let me watch TV and read in the living room, but if I came into the computer room, he'd come and drag me back out!!! LOL He didn't have a nap today either, so my computer time was severely reduced!!!

His 4th molar popped thru on Mon. He has been learning lots of new words, and will repeat things he hears, so I have to start watching what I say!!!!!!!! He even repeats things he hears on TV, so I guess I better not be watching R rated movies when he's up!!

juice...

Vaughn brought me an empty sippy cup today, and said "more". Since he had water in it before, I took it to the kitchen, and poured him another cup of water. He was standing by the fridge, saying "ju, ju, ju". I finally figured out he was asking for juice!! So I gave him half juice/half water, and he was happy!!! I just love the fact that he is communicating with me now!! My little baby is growing up!!!!

Here's the conversation Vaughn and I had right away when he got up this morning!!!

Vaughn: sippy cup (sounds like "pickup")
Mommy: I have to pee first!
Vaughn: (starts crying)
Mommy: Can't you wait?
Vaughn: (shakes his head NO!)

So he got his sippy cup, and sat on the bathroom floor while I peed!! LOL

We are making a trip to the new Super Wal-Mart today!! Vaughn loves Wal-Mart, so we should have fun!

we went for a walk!

It was 64 degrees here today, so Vaughn and I went for a walk. He had SO much fun!! We walked all the way to the end of the block and back, he was chasing leaves that were blowing in the wind! He also got to see a kitty, which he got excited about, and there is a tractor in a yard down the street-- I told him what it was and he was pointing at it and trying to say tractor!!! I was hoping the walk would get him all tired out so he would take a nap, but NO! He was all happy when we got home, and had to play with his toys, and he played piano for a while... Then he started eating!!! He didn't get tired, but he sure worked up an appetite!!! He had a handful of cereal, 4 crackers, and a container of yogurt at 4:30. Then we ate dinner at 6. I made spaghetti and corn-- he had a HUGE helping of spaghetti, and ate almost all of it!!! I think he ate more in 2 hours today than he did all day yesterday!!!!

the missing shoes!!!

We had to run some errands today, so I was taking a shower--Vaughn with his new-found fascination with doors, left the bathroom and closed the door!! I was thinking--OK, what's he going to get into?? I heard him in the kitchen, playing with pots and pans, and figured he was OK. So I get all ready to go, and went to put Vaughn's shoes on him, and they were GONE!!! I looked all over the house, and finally decided to look in the garbage!!!
This is what I found:

• one shoe
• a board book
• his Elmo spoon
• a pan lid
• a plastic bowl
• a wooden spoon
• tupperware pitcher w/ lid
• Disney pop-up toy
• two muffin tins
• plus all the crumbled pieces of crackers and cereal that he found on the kitchen floor!!!!

At this point, I still only have one of his shoes!! I FINALLY found the other one BEHIND the entertaiment center-- I had to pull out a stack of speakers, and drag the shoe out with the broom!!!

stacking blocks

Vaughn and I were playing with his blocks today. He can stack 6 blocks now, last time we tried it, he could only do 3! I was stacking blocks too, and I had about 18 stacked before they fell over! One of them flew all the way across the living room and Vaughn thought it was so funny!!!! Of course, he had to go get it right away, so it wouldn't get lost... When we were done playing, I told him we had to put the blocks away, and he picked them all up and put them in the bag!!! He's really good about putting things away-- I hope he stays that way!!! LOL

French toast!

I made French toast for breakfast this morning-- Vaughn absolutely loved it!! He ate 2 whole pieces! He ate most of it with his hands, but he also had a fork, and every once in a while he would stab a piece with the fork, and then look at me and grin!! He was so proud of himself!!!

Easter photo project...

The "mommy" message board that I'm on is doing a photo project/contest for Easter. The theme is "somebunny loves me", so I took some pictures of Vaughn with his bunnies! These are the 2 best pics out of about 40!!! I need a camera with a faster shutter, since he never sits still!

what a sweetie!!!

I was trying to teach Vaughn to say "I love you" today. I said "I" and he pointed to his eye! Then I said "love" and he threw his arms around my neck and gave me a BIG hug!!!! It was SO sweet!!!!
