Vaughn and his Daddy!!

another tooth!!

I checked Vaughn's teeth today and his 3rd molar is through!!! He got 2 teeth in 6 days!!! No wonder he's been such a crabby butt all week!! LOL One more molar to go, and then he can start working on his "fang" teeth!

amazing boy!!!

This morning I got Vaughn's clothes out to get him dressed. I picked out a shirt that had soccor balls with stars on it. I showed Vaughn the shirt I picked out and he pointed to a star and said "star!" I love it when he learns things on his own and he surprises me!!!

Tonight, he dumped his basket of books on the floor, played with them for a while, and then wanted to sit on my lap. I told him he had to pick up his books and put them in the basket. So he went and turned the basket right-side up, and proceeded to pick up ALL of the books!! Even the one that was under the desk that I didn't see!! (he was down on that level so he saw it!!) Then later on, I asked him if he wanted me to read a story, so he went and got his favorite book (The Truck Book), and we read that... and then he got another, and another, and another... We ended up reading 6 books!!

One of the books he really likes is called "Good Dog, Carl". It's a picture book with a puppy in it! We were looking at that one, and I was pointing to different things and asking him what they were. We got to the page with a fish tank, and I pointed to a fish. He had to think for a little bit, but then you could see the look on his face when he figured it out (like a light bulb going off!!) and he said "FISH!" He was so proud of himself!!!

new towel...

We've had the same towels hanging in the bathroom since last Aug. The other day when we went to Wal-Mart, Kurt decided to pick up a couple more towels. We got a dark blue one and a bright orange one, and he took the orange one with him. I washed our regular towels today, and decided to hang up the new blue one. (Vaughn was napping at this point...) After he got up, I had to go to the bathroom and he followed me in there like he always does. He got the to middle of the bathroom, saw the new towel, stopped, turned around and looked at me sitting on the toilet... He had this really confused look on his face, his nose and forehead were all scrunched up and he says "huh????" I totally cracked up!!!

cleaning!!! LOL

This morning I made scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast. When we were done eating, I got Vaughn out of his high chair and went to clean him up. I told him that it was really messy in there, and I needed to clean the kitchen!! So I'm cleaning up the breakfast dishes, and Vaughn is off doing something. Then I hear Kurt say "are you mopping the carpet?" Vaughn had gone in the bathroom, got the mop and bucket, and took then to the living room!!! He knows when I clean the kitchen I need the mop and bucket so I can clean the floor!!!!

Vaughn's sleep schedule....

It's 10:15 am and Vaughn is still sleeping! He would NOT go to bed last night!! He thinks if he goes to sleep, he's going to miss something! We put him to bed 3 times last night, and he would cry until we went and got him! Finally, at midnight, we put him down and let him cry himself to sleep... Poor baby! He was SO tired! Fri. night he woke up at 2 am, and was up until 5-- we finally had to let him sleep with us!

Vaughn has been following Kurt around the house like a little puppy! It's so cute! He will come and sit on my lap for a minute or two, and then he has to get down and go see what daddy is doing! Yesterday, Kurt was going through a bunch of stuff in the back room, and he was showing Vaughn things like his coin collection and a bunch of old pictures! Vaughn just loved it!!

Vaughn will be so sad when Kurt leaves again....

spending the week with Kurt!

Kurt got home about 11 pm on Mon. Vaughn waited up for him, and was running to the window every 5 minutes for the last hour looking for him!!! As soon as he saw Kurt, he got all shy, and crawled up on the couch! He was kinda of shyly smiling at Kurt, and then he'd play with the blanket on the couch for a little bit, and then smile at him again. He did that for 10 minutes or so, then got done, and started showing Kurt his toys. He FINALLY sat on Kurt's lap, and they started rough-housing, and that was all it took!!! They are back to being best buddies now!
A couple days ago, we were trying to get Vaughn to say a bunch of different words, and Kurt said "can you say vehicle identification number?" Vaughn looked at him, shook his head, and said "no!" We totally cracked up!!!!
Vaughn woke up screaming at 5 am today! I figured it was because of his teeth, so I tried to give him Tylenol, but he just pushed it away. I sat and rocked him for a while, and finally got him back to bed. Today I checked his teeth, and he has his second molar!!! By the time he gets his other 2 1-year molars, it will be time for the 2 year molars to start coming in!!

a long day!

Vaughn got up at 8 this morning!! My neice Tina, and 2 of her friends had spent the night here (my sister babysat Vaughn last night, and left the girls here), so they pretty much wore Vaughn out! I made the girls leave at noon so Vaughn could take a nap!! He did get a 3 hour nap, which is a good thing, or he would have been REALLY crabby!! I did a 2 hour gig at Wal-Mart tonight, and Vaughn got to go with! Tammie and Cody watched him while I was playing. He was pretty good the whole time, but started crying a couple times-- he was tired and hungry, and just wanted mommy, and his blankie!! As soon as we got home, I put him in his jammies, and got him a sippy cup of milk. He was sitting on my lap, and he pulled the top off of the cup and spilled milk all over his blankie, my lap, and the carpet!! I will have to wash his blankie again tomorrow, cuz it will STINK!!!

Kurt was supposed to be home late tonight, but the weather is bad in South Dakota, the highway is closed, and he's spending the night in Rapid City! Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow, and the roads will be OK-- Vaughn misses his daddy!!!

Vaughn has this red plaid blanket, and the other day he was playing with it in the living room... I picked it up, shook it, and said "Toro, Toro!!!" Vaughn thought it was hilarious!!! He comes running at the blanket, laughing like crazy!! I did it a couple more times, and he started saying "Toe, Toe!!!" I just wish I could describe the look of pure joy on his face when he's having that much fun!!!!!!!!!! I can tell you that my cheeks hurt from laughing, just seeing how much fun he's having!!!

dinosaur #2!!

I was sitting at my computer this morning, checking my email, and Vaughn comes up to me and says "RRRAAAARRRR"!!! I look down and there's a dinosaur on my lap!!!

office boy!!

Vaughn turned on the other computer today, and just started typing away!! Then he went and got the phone, and he was typing and talking at the same time!! Do you think maybe I spend too much time on the computer??? LOL

Vaughn's place to stash stuff!!!

Last night I was going to bed, and wanted to watch TV in bed for a while, but the remote was GONE!!! I looked all over the house (not too hard cuz it was late...) and couldn't find it... So this morning, I get up and decide to do a house search for the remote... I looked under the couch, under the couch cushions, in the kitchen cabinets, under the bed, in all the garbage cans, in the bathroom, every place I could think of, and couldn't find it... So I go in Vaughn's room, and look under all the furniture, and finally notice that the top of the humidifier that we don't use is askew... I look inside, and there is: one of his drumsticks, a Little People pig, and THE REMOTE!!!! Now I know his new place to hide things-- he will find someplace new in a few days and I will be at a loss again!!! What a job trying to keep up with a 16 month old!!!!

terrible two's are here!!!

Tiffany's terrible two's started at 18 months... I think Vaughn's started today!!! While I was doing dishes (took me 15? minutes...), he got into 2 different cabinets in the kitchen, I'm trying to shut doors and drawers with my feet while I'm washing dishes!! (mom's can do that...lol) Then he disappears... and comes back in the kitchen with a roll of duct tape from the desk drawer in the back room!!! I put that back, and go back to the dishes... Next, I hear paper ripping in the living room-- I go check and he's tearing up his coloring book that he got from the post office... I let him do that cuz it was keeping him busy... He got bored with that, and went to the DVDs... pulled down about 15 of them... I only had to search for one...lol It took me about as long to clean up the living room as it did for me to do dishes!!!

it's "B" time!!!

Yesterday Vaughn got up at 7:45-- I was still tired, so I took him to bed with me so we could cuddle... After about 15 minutes, he started crawling around the bed and wanted to play. All of a sudden, he started pointing and saying "B, B, B!!" I looked where he was pointing-- he was looking at my digital clock, and it was 8:02-- and the 8 looked like a "B" to him!!!

"blankie"

I made the mistake of washing Vaughn's "blankie" this morning!! He saw me put it in the washer, and started crying! I had to shut the bathroom door so he wouldn't go in there and turn off the washer, and he stood by the door and cried for about a half hour!! I finally distracted him for a few minutes with my wolf blanket, which he really likes because it's so soft, but then he started crying again! He quit crying a few minutes before the washer was done. He followed me into the bathroom when I went to put the laundry in the dryer-- he saw his blankie and he was off again!!!! Poor little guy!!! I might have to get another blanket just like that one so this doesn't happen again... I wonder if he would notice the difference?

The Baron's new clothes!!!

Yesterday, I bought Vaughn a MN Vikings shirt and a pair of Batman pajamas-- both size 3T!! The PJ bottoms are a little big, but the shirts fit him great! What a BIG boy he is!!!!! (can you tell he loves the jammies???)

Vaughn and DVDs!!!

Vaughn pulled down a bunch of DVDs today, and when I finally noticed, I put them back on the shelf but there were 2 missing. I looked all over and couldn't find them!!! While he was taking his nap, I noticed that the VCR was on--I went to turn it off, and found "The Green Mile" DVD on top of the VCR!!! Still couldn't find the other one tho!! A little while later, I went to the bathroom, and there on the toilet was this DVD!!!!!!!! It's like he's bringing porn to the bathroom at 16 months!!!!!!!! LOL!!! (that's my little Rodman boy!!!) Hee hee!!

Vaughn's dinosaur!!

One of Vaughn's favorite toys is a little dinosaur we got at Wal-Mart for $.88! It is an ugly green, hard plastic toy with sharp teeth-- I don't understand why he likes it!! But he drags that thing all over the house (this afternoon I found it in the bathroom by the tub!!) I have been telling him that dinosaurs say "RRRRAAAAARRRRR!!!!" This morning when I told him that, he went "ARRRRR!" And when I tell him the dinosaur has teeth, he will point to its teeth, and then point to his teeth!!! I just love how he is understanding everything! I think he's such an amazing child!!

This morning when I got Vaughn out of his crib, the first thing he said was "Dada?", and he was trying to look into the living room for Kurt!! I've been telling him for the last couple days, that daddy will be home in 2 weeks-- I guess he thought the 2 weeks was up, and was expecting him to be there!!! Poor little guy!!

potatoes...

So Vaughn gets into the cupboard where I keep the potatoes, and has been pulling them out for weeks!! I only have 3 left, so I didn't hear them hit the floor when he pulled them out today! I was in the computer room checking my email, and he comes walking in here with a potato-- I took it away from him, and noticed he had taken a few bites out of it!! I go out in the living room, and there's a BUNCH of bites of potato all over the floor!!! I guess raw potatoes were a little hard for him to chew so he spit them out!!!!

it's been a while since I posted!

Vaughn FINALLY got a molar!! The first one popped thru a couple days ago! He had been working on that one tooth for over 2 months!! I hope the rest of them don't take as long to come in!
He has started biting me and pulling my hair in the last couple days-- he thinks it's extremely funny!!! It hurts, so he gets a reaction from me-- that must be what he thinks is funny! I have to try not to react, but when he's got a big handful of my hair, I can't help it!!! I am definitely not going to put up with this!!
Yesterday, Vaughn and I went over to Shuggie's house (he is the guitar player in the band we just started). We were listening to some tunes that he wants to work on. Well, Vaughn starts head banging to Travis Tritt and Shooter Jennings!!! It was so cute!!! At least he has good taste in music! (he was dancing to "Skynyrd" before he was born!!)
In the mornings, when Vaughn has his sippy cup of milk, he always sits on my lap and watches Sesame Street. I don't usually have anything to eat before this, so my stomach will start growling. He will turn around and look at my tummy, then look up at me and grin!! I love his sense of humor!!!! Hee hee!!!
